Dolorosa Series

This is my new series of 2021 which is known as Dolorosa. The contrast between the perfectness of Christ presented by a rounded finial cross ( the curves represent the capabilities to embrace the uneven or sharp edges - Love ) surrounded by thorns and nails - ( Pain and sufferings ). A reminder of Christ submission to the pain and agony without resisting with His strength.

This Cope is inspired by the work of George Frederick Bodley. The body of this chasuble is made out of red cotton linen embossed damask. The shape of the chasuble is Semi Gothic and the lining is made out of man made taffeta in antique gold shade.

The braids are the studio's recent reproduction of the early of A.W.N Pugin and probably made around 1848 for the Abbey.

The orphrey's pattern are inspired by a carved silver pyx made in the 18th century. The colour are specially selected to contrast with the braid along.

The cope is then decorated with the fire embroidery in gold all around.
