Dolorosa Series

This is my new series of 2021 which is known as Dolorosa. The contrast between the perfectness of Christ presented by a rounded finial cross ( the curves represent the capabilities to embrace the uneven or sharp edges - Love ) surrounded by thorns and nails - ( Pain and sufferings ). A reminder of Christ submission to the pain and agony without resisting with His strength. The body fabric is made of cotton linen blend and the embossed effect resemble various size of floral pattern. The lining is lined with pure natural cotton voile. Ordering details click here

McDougall Chasuble - Gold

McDougall Chasuble - Gold

This Chasuble is another series of vestments fusing the elements of South East Asian by using Songket ( Cloth of Gold of Malay ) with an English pattern orphrey. This is to commemorate the event of the early missionary work of the late bishop Francis Thomas McDougall.

Inculturation in South East Asia has open the door of creativity in many ways, such as liturgical arts.

Songket is one of the best fabric in my opinion to depict the beauty of cloth of gold in South East Asia. Very often it is weaved with geometry or floral pattern.

To make the chasuble fit to the climate of South East Asia, i had chosen to lined it with natural cotton silk blend to reduce the weight and thickness.

Composition : ( Body ) Silk/Rayon/Lurex/Gold thread
( Lining ) Red cotton silk
