Old ciborium veil
This Ciborium veil was dismantled parts by parts. The first to remove was the fringes and the braid. Then the four panel is detached, carefully the lining was removed. The interlining was exposed, there were 2 layers of interlining and some of the embroidery were sewn onto both interlining. Therefore, the solution was to cut along the embroidery work without damaging the back. Then a layer of soft interlining was applied onto the back of the embroidery.
The lining was replaced with a pure white cotton instead of the polyester satin. Each panels was is then attached together with the braid and a new fringes is being sewn.
